BEWARE!
We have been using Emeril cookware for ten years. We purchased both Emerilware 12 inch, 10 inch, and 8 inch non stick cookware pans about that long ago and have used them almost every day since then. They are the best pans we have ever owned. Unfortunately, the coating on the 12 inch was wearing thin after so much use over that time period. We decided to buy a new 12 inch, and saw the set of two advertised for $39.99 and purchased them. By the way, when I bought the 12 inch pan 10 years ago at JC Penny Home store, it was $69.99. What came in the mail today for $39.99 was a bad joke. The construction was so thin, both pans together, including the box they came in, WEIGHED LESS than our single 12 inch Emeril pan purchased 10 years ago. I should have known better, you get what you pay for! Decent Pans, But Not Great
No offense, but if you want a high quality pan that lasts, you should probably steer clear of any that are promoted by the chef de jour. I like Emeril, and his pans are okay, but compared to other cookware, they come up wanting.
I recently aquired an Anolon 10-Piece Cookware Set and have been very impressed with their craftsmanship and performance. Yes, the two fry pans from Emeril cost less and it shows in the end product. The pans are lighter and "feel" cheaper, and the thin handles heat up rather easily making it harder to work with. I've only used them for a month so I can't attest to their longevity, but they've held up well so far. Eggs and pancakes are easy to make in them and they clean up fairly easily.
If you want an inexpensive, decent set of frying pans that won't be used too often, then I think this set is a good fit. If you cook all the time and want pans that you can depend...

In purchasing this item I read other reviews and item specks. The deciding factor on this particular non stick pan was its heat tolerance, supposedly up to 450 degrees in the oven. Although the pan has not been used in the oven, it has been used to sear meat/chicken prior to full cooking. Additionally, I was looking for a sturdy pan,one that would work well on an electric oven. Many non stick pans I have found are too thin to properly work on an electric oven and cooking with high heat destroys the surface; this pan is solid and distributes the heat well. The non stick surface was not damaged using the higher heat,the problem I usually encounter with other non stick pans previously purchased. The only issue I have with the pan, which I believe to be a minor one, is that if the pan is kept on the heat for a long time the handle will warm up. For the price I paid and the pan's performance so for, I am satisfied with the purchase.
